The Samqwane’jk project, supported by Canada’s Sustainable Development Goals Program, focused on advancing SDGs important to Indigenous and coastal communities in Atlantic Canada. Three Indigenous businesses — 3D Wave Design, Miawpukek Horizon Maritime Services, and Sma’knis Maritime Safety & Security — were selected to lead the initiative. From June 2022 to January 2024, they participated in workshops to develop sustainable business strategies and track progress toward their SDG targets.
